Revival Unto Revolution | Discovery Course
In this message, Pastor Shane Farmer explores the need for revival, the promise of revival, and the path to revival. Revival is not just a historical event but something God still desires to do today—bringing salvation to the lost and renewing believers for mission. The church is called to awaken from spiritual apathy and hunger for more of God, knowing that His Kingdom should be breaking through in powerful ways in the present.
The need for revival is clear when we observe the world and the church’s spiritual state. We are urged to refuse the status quo, cry out for God’s presence, and seek His renewal. The promise of revival is grounded in Scripture, especially 2 Chronicles 7:14, where God promises healing and revival to those who humble themselves, pray, and repent.
The path to revival involves personal and corporate humility, prayer, repentance, and seeking God's face. The sermon highlights the importance of staying on this “Revival Road,” not being distracted by comforts or distractions. Historically, revivals have followed times of desperation, humility, and seeking God, as seen in both biblical accounts (e.g., Hezekiah’s revival) and church history (e.g., the Great Awakenings).
Will we, as a church, hunger and thirst for revival?
